Every year, backover incidents lead to serious injuries and fatalities in construction zones and workplaces. These incidents often happen when drivers lose sight of people, objects, or vehicles behind them. In response, OSHA has launched the #MirrorCheck initiative to raise awareness and provide resources to help educate workers and employers in the construction industry about safety practices that can prevent backovers and save lives. The #MirrorCheck initiative is a presentation that covers a variety of ways to help prevent backover incidents, such as adjusting mirrors properly, using spotters, internal traffic control plans and more. Click here to download the presentation in PDF form. OSHA also has a webpage with additional resources to assist in preventing backover incidents. Click here for more information.
