The Albany Law Enforcement Resolution Team (ALERT) recently honored ECA President & CEO Todd Helfrich as a community “change agent” and recognized him and others with its Bridge Builder Award. The award honors community members who encourage people within their sphere of influence to be better and live in ways that will improve all relationships. Over a number of years, Helfrich has worked with the ALERT program’s leadership to bring ECA members and new/rising business owners from the minority community together in a mentoring roundtable, and he continues to offer support on a variety of topics that benefit young and rising companies. ECA as a whole has also supported a number of ALERT's community programs, including its annual “Unite the County” event and other “in the neighborhood” initiatives. The ALERT Partnership was established to serve as a liaison between residents of Albany and the members of local police and law enforcement. ALERT identifies issues that “a” community faces and connects them with the police or law enforcement agency that can best address their concerns and, in some cases, meet the physical needs of the community.
