ECA and our colleagues from across the state continue to communicate with the Governor's office regarding the construction industry and COVID-related issues. Our latest outreach asks Governor Cuomo to keep construction as an essential service as we move into 2021. Keeping the men and women of the construction industry mobilized throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has proven necessary to meeting the needs of our communities and economy. Construction workers have built, maintained, and repaired critical infrastructure, roads, bridges, health facilities, and schools, among other projects. As COVID-19 cases continue to spike throughout New York State and the nation, the construction industry has worked in a safe and responsible manner and has played an important role in continuing economic activity.
