Governor Kathy Hochul delivered her 2025 State of the State address earlier this week and her proposals include more than 200 initiatives as part of her “Fighting for your Family” plan. Those initiatives have been divided into 15 categories: Putting Money Back in New Yorkers’ Pockets Supporting the Youngest New Yorkers and their Families Helping Our Children Thrive Investing in Safety Bringing Jobs to New York Building an Economy that Works for All Making Government Work Better Growing Housing to Drive Affordability Cutting Commutes Protecting Consumers Supporting Survivors of Sexual Assault, Gender-Based Violence, and Sex Trafficking Investing in Mental Health Investing in Health Investing in Social Services and Equity Building a Sustainable Future Click here to read the Governor’s plan, spelled out in this year’s State of the State book. Next up is the announcement of the Governor’s Executive Budget, which is expected to come out early next week. Negotiations will then be fully underway, with the Governor and Legislature hashing out the details as they try and meet the April 1 deadline.
