As previously reported, all New York contractors and subcontractors must register with the New York State Department of Labor's Bureau of Public Work and Prevailing Wage Enforcement to work on public work projects or covered private projects that are subject to prevailing wage laws. The registration requirement takes effect on December 30, 2024. Click here to learn more. Contractors must register online and submit documents and answers to questions about their business, including their name, address, phone number, owners, and officers. They must also disclose whether they have any outstanding wage assessments, debarment, or other labor law violations. Contractors will be required to create an account via this link with the NYS Department of Labor. Once done, contractors may then log into their account and begin the registration process.
