In 2023, the New York State legislature passed a law that will soon mandate all contractors bidding on public work to be registered with the New York State Department of Labor prior to submitting a bid. Contractors will also be required to ensure that any subcontractor working on the project be registered before beginning work. There are similar requirements for certain publicly funded private projects. This law is scheduled to become effective later this year. Although the NYSDOL issued proposed guidelines for how the contractor registration law will be administered, the Building Industry Employers of New York State (BIE) in conjunction with the Eastern Contractors Association and other affiliated construction industry groups, are pleased to present a FREE webinar on Wednesday, July 31 at 3 p.m. that will review and discuss the impending required contractor registration system.
