The Department of Labor announced two webinars on May 30, 2024 and June 3, 2024 to discuss DOL’s new overtime final rule, which takes effect on July 1, 2024. While the final rule has no relevance for unionized construction craftworkers, it may still be of interest to SWACCA members as it may alter whether other non-union employees of SWACCA member companies are eligible for overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week. During the webinars, staff from the Wage and Hour Division will provide a general overview of the final rule and will discuss the rule’s revisions, including scheduled increases to certain thresholds required for exemption. The webinars will be held on May 30, 2024 from 2-3pm ET and on June 3, 2024 from 2-3pm ET. Registration is required and can be completed on the DOL website here by clicking “Register for May 30” or “Register for June 3.”
