NYS Budget Sunsets COVID Paid Leave . . . But Not Until 2025

The New York State Budget process wrapped up earlier this week and one of the items that employers have been pushing for was enacted, with the sunsetting of COVID Sick Pay leave. While we were hoping it would end this summer, the leave obligation will not end until next year, on July 31, 2025. 
 
Until that time, employers are still obligated to pay for COVID Sick Leave in accordance to the guidelines, which can be found here.
