ECA member firm Curtis Lumber is distributing more than 250 tool bags to graduating trade students from the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES and Questar III BOCES in career and tech education programs. The bags are being distributed among young men and women from these programs who are going into construction, heavy equipment, HVAC and welding fields. The tool bags are stuffed with tools, swag items, work gloves, lunch bags, safety eyewear, and discounts toward tools at Curtis. Each bag has a value of about $100 and gives the students a leg up on getting out there and starting their career in the trades. Curtis Lumber more than doubled its program from last year with help from ECA member firms Callanan Industries and Turner Construction, the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, and other area contracting and construction industry firms.
