Company Description: Established in 1924 here in Rotterdam, NY. Incorporated in 1948. Doubled our Fabrication capacities in 1983. Became 100% employee owned in 1986. We are an ESOP -- Employee Stock Ownership Plan. We became AISC Certified in 2005. Steel is processed (cut, drilled, punched and coped) with the help of six computer aided machines. Detail drawings are completely automated, albiet 75% sublet. Detailing has developed from pencils of carious hardnesses to computer aided drawings. Connections have developed from rivets to tension control bolts. Miscellaneous steel fabrication, all erection and delivery used to be accomplished in house; now it's all sublet. Contracts used to be a handshake; now it's 100 pages of fine print requiring an on-staff paralegal to protect ourselves from damaging terms. Since March of 2006 we are working with our 7th company president. Our early presidents had to worry about fabricating and erecting an acceptable product and then getting paid. The later presidents still have these concerns and responsibilities, but also have the added responsibilities of being in compliance with ENCON, OSHA, EEOC, and PLA's. We used to have 240/241...we STILL have 240/241.
