Eastern Contractors Association is proud to announce our support for the 2018 Capital Region CANstruction event taking place now through April 11 at the New York State Museum. This year's theme is BON VOYAGE and includes entries from ECA member firms A.O.W. Associates, Inc. and CHA. CANstruction is a friendly design competition fighting hunger in cities all over America. Here in the Capital Region, it brings together teams of local professionals in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction community, challenging them to imagine and bring to life structures made completely of canned food goods. After being on display in the New York State Museum, each can will be donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District. Since its inception in 2011, Capital Region CANstruction has donated over 450,000 lbs of food and $136,400 to The Food Pantries for the Capital District. Visitors are encouraged to bring canned goods to the State Museum and participate in the CANstruction competition. Visitors can use their canned goods as ballots to help determine the winner of the Community Choice award. The Capital District CANstruction event is hoping to collect more than 10,000 cans of food through the Community Choice balloting. While we await the "People's Choice" award, we can congratulate A.O.W. for winning the "Most Cans" award with nearly 7,500 cans used in their design. CANstruction is taking place in the 4th Floor Gallery of the NYS Museum and admission is FREE. For more information, visit the CANstruction facebook page at: facebook.com/CapitalRegionCANstruction.
