The Northeast Carpenters Apprentice Training Fund and the Sisters in the Brotherhood are again offering a Pre-Apprentice Program, which can lead to a five-year apprenticeship with the Carpenters Union. The Sisters are particularly supportive of women and minorities who never thought about carpentry as a career. There will be information sessions held in May to explain more about the program and answer questions. The program will run for 6 weeks in early summer. Upon successful completion of the program, participants gain direct entry into the full apprentice program. The Pre-Apprentice Program allows for a trial period to find out if carpentry fits the participants career path. Information sessions will be held in Albany, Troy and Schenectady.
