Turner Construction Co. and representatives from the State University Construction Fund held an information session earlier this week at The Building Industry Center to discuss the upcoming SUNY at Albany ETEC project. This project is budgeted at over $100 million and will be out for bid on October 16. General Information: Project: Building and Sitework Package Size of Building: 245,000 gsf / 5 levels and basement Schedule of Construction: 39 months Interior Spaces: Offices, Classrooms, Labs, Collaborative Breakouts, Café, Research, and Interactive spaces Exterior Wall Systems: Curtainwall, metal panel systems, GFRC Structural Steel Frame Various Interior Finishes (tile/acoustical panel systems/casework/etc) Site concrete and asphalt paving/utilities/decorative hardscape/landscaping Miscellaneous Project Highlights: • MWBE Requirements (12% MBE & 18% WBE & 3% DVBE) • Project Labor Agreement anticipated • Single Prime Contract (through SUCF) • Joint Venture/GC Partnership Opportunities • Architect: CANNON DESIGN • Construction Manager: Turner Construction Company • A/E's Estimate: Over $100,000,000 • University at Albany Potential Occupants: Undergraduate and Graduate Students, Faculty, College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity, Atmospheric Science Research Center, and leased entity departments Packages are expected to include: • $7-8m site work • $9m structural steel • $15m mechanical • $12-13m electrical • $7m curtain wall/GFRC Click here for a look at the slides from the presentation.
