Architectural Glass & Metal Wins International Safety Award TEC Protective Coatings Also Honored ECA member firm Architectural Glass & Metal, Inc. (AGM), based out of Clifton Park, earned an international safety award from the Finishing Contractors Association International (FCA) at a ceremony held earlier today. TEC Protective Coatings, Inc., based out of Waterford, was also recognized, placing among the top firms in its safety category. AGM took top honors in the architectural glass and metal with 50,001-100,000 hours worked category. This is AGM's first time winning the Contractors Recognizing Excellence in Safety Training (CREST) Award. They placed second last year. TEC continues to be recognized for its strong safety record, having won three CREST Awards in the past, by placing second this year in its category among firms in the U.S. and Canada. CONGRATULATIONS! The CREST Award is designed to objectively evaluate contractors based on key leading and lagging measures of safety. These are metrics associated with safety efforts that cause excellent safety performance and the resulting data that matches the safety performance (i.e. low injury/illness rates). This includes levels of safety training, on-going safety practices, impact of the safety program on the company and data collected from the company's OSHA Form 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses. FCA International represents the largest community of finishing contractors in North America engaged in architectural glass and metal, drywall finishing, floor covering, industrial coating, painting and wallcovering and sign work. This is the seventh year that FCA has sponsored the CREST Awards.
