Next week, March 6-12, is NAWIC's Women in Construction Week. The focus of WIC Week is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry. This year's WIC Week theme is “Envision Equity,” and NAWIC has a number of events planned that you can participate in virtually: • Monday, March 7 – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Panel • Tuesday, March 8 – Keynote by Angie Simon, Past President of SMACNA • Wednesday, March 9 – “Culture of Care” Virtual Breakfast • Thursday, March 10 – Evolving into Leadership: Lead from the Inside Out • Friday, March 11 – Recognizing Women of Color in Construction & the Built Environment For more information and to sign up, click here. NAWIC has been helping women for more than 60 years take advantage of the opportunities in construction. Establishing a network base, mentoring, providing educational and professional opportunities for women in construction is the common goal within the organization. The U.S. DOL is also offering a webinar on March 9, 2022, entitled “Build a Brighter Future Engaging Women in Construction. The program will discuss career opportunities for women in construction, how woman can succeed in the industry, training and apprentice opportunities and more.
