As of February 19, 2020, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has updated its information on the revised Form I-9 - the Employment Eligibility Verification form. The revised form is dated 10/21/19 and may be found at www.uscis.gov/i-9. On January 31, 2020, US Citizenship and Immigration Services published a revised version of Form I-9, the Employment Eligibility Verification form. Employers should immediately begin using the revised form, dated 10/14/2019, and after April 30, 2020, are required to use it. Changes to the 10/14/2019 form: • In Section 1, the Country of Issuance field, and in Section 2, the Issuing Authority field (when selecting a foreign passport) are both revised to include Eswatini and Macedonia, North, per recent name changes for those countries (only visible when completing the electronic Form I-9). • Revised Spanish version of Form I-9 with a version date of 10/21/2019 is available for use in Puerto Rico only. Changes to Instructions for completing Form I-9: • Clarifies who can act as an authorized representative on behalf of an employer • Updates USCIS website addresses * Clarifies acceptable documents for Form I-9 • Updates the process for requesting paper Forms I-9 • Updates the DHS Privacy Notice For a copy of the new form and for more information visit I-9 Central at www.uscis.gov/i-9.
