Looking back at an amazing week with the cruise industry in #Miami 🛳️! Not only did the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Miami organize a successful program together with NMT | Netherlands Maritime Technology for an innovative #Dutch #tech #delegation focused on sustainable and/or cost saving solutions, but 15 exhibitors from our Kingdom showcased one-of-a-kind destinations, innovative flooring solutions, intelligent technological solutions, experienced shipyards and more at #STCGlobal. It was a pleasure to also have Vice Mayor of the City of Rotterdam, Robert Simons, in town, who participated in Seatrade and also met with government officials to talk about topics of mutual interest like resilience and sustainable trade. The #cruiseindustry is growing, with more than 34 million passengers projected for 2024 and several announcements of more ships being built in the years to come. Eco-protection, sustainability and getting to net-zero emissions by 2050 are high on the agenda for the cruise lines, offering excellent opportunities for Dutch innovative, sustainable solutions. Our cruise ports also are working hard on sustainability goals, expanding their shore power accessibility to include larger cruise vessels among others. Thank you Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Group, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Anglo Eastern Cruise Management Inc., Ralph de Klijn, Hans Rood, Jim Barreiro de León Ship Management Group and others for taking the time to speak with the Dutch tech delegation and sharing your insights! And last but not least, thank you so much Henry Veringa, Stefano Pisano, and Philip Bender Virgin Voyages for the engaging meeting and unforgettable behind the scenes tour on board of the Scarlet Lady!!! ✨ And, Marjolein Tiktak NMT | Netherlands Maritime Technology, thank you for the great collaboration.
